About Us

Interiors rooted in design psychology, designed to feel deeply personal, considered, and quietly supportive of everyday life.

Kavyam Studio is a Toronto-based interior design studio creating homes that balance beauty with function, and emotional resonance with practical clarity.

The name Kavyam, pronounced kah-vyum, means poetry in Sanskrit. That spirit of intention, rhythm, and expression informs the way we approach space.

Our Approach

We believe good design is not only visual. It is behavioural, emotional, and deeply personal.

That is why our work is grounded in design psychology, a people-first approach that looks at how your environment affects mood, energy, focus, rest, and ease. We consider how a space should function, but also how it should feel.

Whether we are guiding a full renovation, refining the furnishing of a room, or helping a client gain direction through a Blueprint Session, our aim is the same: to create spaces that feel aligned with the people living in them.

Hi, I’m Prateek, the founder of Kavyam Studio and a designer who believes that home should feel like an extension of who you are.

My love for design began early. As a child, I spent hours building miniature houses with Lego blocks, completely absorbed in how spaces come together. That quiet curiosity stayed with me, but it was while designing my own home that I truly reconnected with the joy of creating environments that feel deeply personal and meaningful. That experience led me to pursue formal studies in interior design and to eventually launch Kavyam Studio.

My approach blends creativity with intention. I work at the intersection of design and human behaviour, guided by principles of design psychology, understanding how a space can influence how we feel, think, and live. I’m drawn to layered, thoughtful design that balances beauty with function. I enjoy playing with texture, colour, and details that bring a sense of calm, character, and connection.

Before starting this chapter, I spent over 12 years as a Change Management & Workplace Strategist across eight different industries, including architecture and design. That experience sharpened my skills in project leadership, business strategy, communication, and navigating complex timelines, all of which now help me guide my clients through a smooth, thoughtful design process.

I also hold an MBA from Queen’s University, and a Master’s in Marketing and Sales. But more than anything, it’s the joy of helping people feel at home in their space that drives me.
